FAQ

  • What program do you use? I work on an iPad Pro in Procreate or Art Studio Pro.

  • What brushes do you use? My go-to's are Procreate's default 6B brush, as well as packs from Max Ulichney (@maxpacks) and Vivibrush (@vvberger).

  • When will your commissions open? I don't have a commission schedule and openings are rare. Follow my accounts for announcements, slots are chosen based on application and fit. You can expect to spend $100+ on a rat portrait.

  • Can I get a tattoo of your art? See my tattoo policy here

  • Can I trace or use your art as reference? Feel free to practice with it, but don't present it as your own work.

  • Can I repost your art? I always prefer to post my own art, please share links instead.

Isamu Rats is another fantastic resourceAdopt in pairs, do not raise rats solo, research new and current care information. Be prepared to handle unexpected vet costs. Rats do not live long and for many people, the hardest thing about owning them is "the goodbye." They are worth every moment--but do not be selfish in your decisions. Adopt when you are ready for the commitment so you have no regrets!

What you can and can't do

  • Rates are subject to change between commission rounds

  • Payment through Paypal invoices only.

  • No full refunds—I will only refund for the value of work not yet completed

  • I retain all ownership rights to images produced for commissions. This means I may post them publicly, alter them, or use them on my site and social media. This does not mean I own your characters

  • You may post commissioned work to social media so long as you use the watermarked “sharable” version provided, with credit.

  • You may not ask another artist to alter, “finish,” or otherwise use my design without my consent. If you do so--I won’t work for you again and will not refer you to other artists

  • Commissioned work may not be reproduced (i.e. printed and given to multiple people by the commissioner) without permission

  • Commissioned work is for personal use only. If you intend to use something commercially or for professional branding, this needs to be arranged beforehand and is subject to commercial rates.

  • "Personal use" does not include AI Art. Do not use my work to create AI art derivatives

Tattoo Policy

You may get tattoos of my artwork with a tattoo ticket.
See the link below to purchase your ticket!

  • Any art labeled as a commission is not permitted for use as a tattoo.

  • My work isn't designed with tattoos in mind. The tattoo artist may change aspects of the image to better fit the tattoo.

  • Email me first for image availability at [email protected] with the subject line "Tattoo Ticket"

  • Usage is not exclusive. Someone else may request the same piece.

  • Ticket price is for usage of any pre-existing artwork I have posted, as a tattoo design.

  • Tattoo design commissions are closed.

COMMISSION APPLICATIONS

Please send an email to [email protected] with "August 2022 Commissions" in the subject line, and include:

1) Which portrait type & how many rats2) Any noteworthy details or markings, or characteristics of your rats3) Whether you'd like add-ons for specific florals or poses (not available for YRH)4) References!
If you're not particular about the details, just send whatever reference photos you have, and I'll extrapolate the rest :)

Those accepted this round will get a PayPal invoice and access to a Trello board to track progress. Anyone not chosen is not guarenteed a response (it takes a long time!).
